There is only ONE!!.... The TRILENE KNOT!! I had the distinct pleasure of being a part of BERKLEY/TRILENES Ambassador program for 6 years. As a junior member of that division I had the responsibility of demonstrating the line/knot testing machine at the various boat shows, trade shows, Bass Pros Fishing Fair, bass club meetings etc.
The machine does not lie. It automatically measures the diameter of the line (in thousanths of an inch), tests the tensile strength of the line and also shows if the line breaks or the knot at maximum strength. I have seen every knot known to man over and over. The best knot which out performs all others is the TRILENE KNOT.
It was not developed by Trilene but was discovered through a national contest years and years ago. They then adopted it for themselves after discovering the winner. Look at the diagram below and see how to tie the knot for your own use. The only thing to be careful of is this.....when you make the double loop through the eye of your lure make sure the two pieces of line are laying side by side. If you do that it will be perfect. Should you lay one line on top of the other the knot will perform like most other knots and explode. Try it...you will like it I can assure you!
