Family and The White River Adventures

Mr. Charlie Martin, his son-In-Law and grandson Ben just spent a few days on the White River and the fish were biting. It is great to see a family enjoy themselves so much enjoying the outdoors and especially what the White River area has to offer. They also took in Blanchard Springs Caverns one afternoon and what a treat that was for everyone!

Angels Retreat

I think I have created a monster I can't control!! My new #1 guide and fishing buddy, Mike Logan, has gone crazy on me but we have a lot of fun! He has turned out to be a Rapala throwing wild man and can catch them as well....proof is these two Rainbows from this morning. We were on our way to solidify a new place for our shore lunches...just happened to fish for a little while on our way down the river and look what he caught!!

 I have worked out a mutual deal with Mike & Rita Billbe of Angels Retreat and will begin doing shore lunches there when I am in that part of the White River. They have a very nice facility between Buffalo City and Rim Shoals complete with cabins, restrooms, boat launch etc.I would highly recommend their property and retreat if you want to stay on that part of the White River.

 

Dick Jackson Family Caught Hundreds

The Dick Jackson Family were just here for a few days and what a trip trip was. Each day the two boats EACH caught 100 to 150 fish! Jarred, the 11 year old grandson topped the list with a 21 inch brown and there were several more browns caught along the way. We had grandfather, son and grandson plus a good family friend to share the experience and the fun. album

Mr. Jackson operates Triple J Lodge in Roosevelt, Oklahoma which is a great goose hunting destination. I've been there and would highly recommend it to you water fowl enthusiasts.

White River Crested

The White River crested around 29 feet high at Norfork and what a sight it was! The good news is that it is just about ready to fish and I am expecting big things very shortly.

For those of you who have been around my web site for a while you will remember what happened after the flood in 2008 . . . I had the best year for BIG Browns that I have ever had . . . it was unreal and I am expecting the same thing to happen starting any day.

Tomorrow will be the first day for me to go check some spots and see what happens. DUE TO A SCHEDULE CHANGE I PRESENTLY HAVE MAY 11TH THROUGH MAY 19TH OPEN!!  If anyone can utilize those dates please contact me . . . the fishing should be exciting! Actually Catch All The Fish You Want

Low water and great temperatures have been great for fishing...especially fly fishing and jig fishing!! Yesterday you could actually catch all the fish you wanted to catch. Woolie Buggers in Olive, Pink jigs under an indicator and 1/8th ounce White River Zig Jigs were the order of the day. Largest fish was a very nice 3 pound Rainbow caught by Mike Logan!!

Winter Linger Land

We missed the big storm early in the week that went across the U.S. and thought we had it made. A little storm came through yesterday afternoon and dropped six inches of snow on us!

It is beautiful today to say the least but I can't find anyone that will get out of the house to go chase BROWNS!! The BROWNS are definitely in the places they should be and just waiting to attack something tied on the end of your line! Book a trip and come enjoy what the White River Basin has to offer!! You will be glad you did!

Nocona Texas Catch

The Nocona Texas boys can catch anything....Trout, Smallmouth, Blue Gill, Shad....if it swam they caught it this week.

Chris & Ken(shown in the photos) had 107 caught by lunch time the second day....no telling what we ended up with for the day!

WHITE RIVER ZIG JIGS were the hot ticket.Ginger and green w/ginger were the big producers.

Think about a winter trip to the Arkansas Ozarks...the fish bite the same all year round and no traffic on the river to contend with!! We have fun here at LINGER'S GUIDE SERVICE & FISHING.

Weather and Water Levels Outstanding! Fish On!

The weather in the Arkansas Ozarks has been great and the water levels outstanding for catching lots of fish. The fly rod on the White River has been producing very well and is probably one of the best kept secrets of the entire area.

From Rim Shoals down stream YOU NEVER SEE A FLY FISHERMAN and you have whatever part of that 50 miles of river all to yourself! Fall and Winter are even better as the water levels usually remain low and you have unlimited spots/areas to fish! Some areas you wade and others you access by boat. Flyer Fishing On The White River

If you are a fly fisherman you are missing out on a unique opportunity on the White River! The generation has been low for a couple of weeks making the fly fishing very consistent on the White. The White is the best kept secret in fly fishing as virtually NO ONE fly fishes the White other than below the dam and Rim Shoals. Once in a while you will see a fisherman at Buffalo Shoals but from Buffalo City to Calico Rock I have not seen another fly fisherman this entire year except the customers in my boat! Many more fish to be caught and many different types of water to fish. Woolie Buggers, various midge patterns, San Juan Worms, Egg patterns, Streamers etc make for a great day.....make a Fall trip and bring your fly rod....you will be glad you did!! Doves On!

There is nothing anymore fun than GREAT FRIENDS, A FEW COCKTAILS,GOOD FOOD, AND A WIFE THAT LOVES TO DO THE THINGS YOU DO!!

We just got back from three days of Dove hunting at my home town and what a time we had....the birds could have flown a little better but as you can see by the pictures no one went home hungry from our "Dove Kabob" cook the second day!I

Still have September 9-12 and September 25-29 open at this time plus some weekdays ion October. Check my booking calendar or give a shout if you have an interest and we will try and work out the details. F I S H O N!!
